About this programme
This qualification develops learners pursuing a career in cyber security and risk management, building the cyber security skills required by organisations globally and developing the team leaders, managers and leaders of the future. It is a recognised UK qualification (120 credits, TQT 1200).

• Cyber Security Threat and Risk
• Network Security and Data Communications
• Database Security and Computer Programming
• Incident Response, Investigations and Forensics
• Security Strategy: Laws, Policies and Implementation
• Optional (choose 1): Cyber Security Threats and Risk: Banking and Finance, or Cyber Wars
What you will learn
• Read and use relevant technical and security literature, including threat intelligence feeds, with good understanding.
• Think independently and solve cyber security issues within a business or organisation.
• Apply cyber security and digital risk management knowledge to familiar and unfamiliar problems.
• Understand moral and ethical issues in business practice, research, investigations, audits, and incident response.
• Appreciate the need for ethical standards and professional codes of conduct.
• Understand the interdisciplinary nature of cyber security in business, service delivery, supply chains, and wider operating environments.
• Explain cyber security topics clearly and accurately in a mature way.
• Discuss cyber security issues with both technical and non-technical people.
• Develop transferable skills, including project management and incident response.
• Adapt to changing cyber security environments and digital risks.
• Progress to further professional development through higher study or career development.
• Understand and respect the global nature of cyber threats and international business practices.
Entry requirements
Students should have completed O/L or an equivalent qualification.
• Students with A/L, Level 3 qualification, foundation course, diploma, or vocational qualification can apply.
• Students with technical or risk management experience in computing, IT, networking, cyber security, or security-related work can also apply.
• Students working in a relevant field such as IT support, networking, systems administration, security, banking, finance, or risk management may apply.
• Students with a Level 4 qualification in another subject area can apply if they want to develop their career in cyber security.
• Students should have ambition and clear career goals in cyber security or digital risk management.
