Fundamental knowledge and skills for those pursuing a bachelor's degree in Information Technology — equivalent to the 2nd year of a degree.

What you will learn

On completion, learners will be able to: • Demonstrate core knowledge of computer systems, programming and databases. • Apply software-development and web technologies to build solutions. • Manage IT infrastructure, networks and information-security fundamentals. • Analyse organisational IT requirements and propose appropriate solutions. • Conduct applied IT project work using professional practices.

Entry requirements

Open to learners aged 18+ who hold a relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g. GCE A/L) or equivalent. Mature learners (21+) with relevant work experience are also considered. Non-native English speakers should evidence English language competency (e.g. IELTS 6.0 or equivalent). Progression into the Level 5 units requires successful completion of Level 4 or an equivalent Level 4 qualification.
