About this programme

The BSc (Hons) Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence programme is designed to develop the advanced computing and artificial intelligence skills that are increasingly in demand across today’s technology driven industries. With artificial intelligence recognised as a key driver of innovation and economic growth, this programme equips students with the knowledge and expertise needed to thrive in the digital economy. The programme combines a strong foundation in computer science with specialised study in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision. Students will develop the technical and analytical skills required to design, develop and implement intelligent software solutions that address real world challenges across a wide range of industries.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and their impact on organisations, society and the wider digital economy.
  • Demonstrate professional, analytical and research skills required for employment or further study in computing and artificial intelligence.

    • A relevant Level 5 Diploma in Computing, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or Artificial Intelligence
    • Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Computing or a related discipline
    • Pearson BTEC HND in Computing or a related discipline
    • Pearson BTEC HND in Computing (Software Engineering)
    • Pearson BTEC HND in Computing (Artificial Intelligence)
    • ATHE Level 4 and Level 5 Diplomas in Computing or a related discipline
    • OTHM Level 4 and Level 5 Diploma in Information Technology or a related discipline
    • SQA Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computing or a related discipline
    • SQA Advanced Diploma in Computing or a related discipline
    • Any equivalent Level 5 qualification in Computing, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
    • Any similar qualification approved by the University
